Estimates and pricing
Online prices, gold-buying estimates, custom jewelry estimates, and availability are informational until confirmed by Hands of Gold in person or in writing. Gold-buying estimates are not binding offers.
Gold-buying calculator
The website gold-buying calculator provides a non-binding online estimate using the live gold spot price available to the site, the purity selected by the visitor, the weight entered by the visitor, and an estimate equal to 80% of the calculated melt value. The calculator is not an appraisal, guaranteed quote, or promise to purchase an item for the displayed amount.
Actual in-store purchase prices may differ after the item is tested and weighed. Stones, solder, clasps, watch parts, non-gold components, and other materials may not count toward payable gold weight. Market prices can change between the online estimate and an in-store transaction.
Applicable Suffolk County rules govern in-store precious-metal purchases by weight, including pennyweight-based weight and price-per-pennyweight disclosures. The online calculator does not replace any required in-store testing, weighing, posted notices, receipts, records, identification, or other transaction requirements.
Custom jewelry
The Custom Jewelry Studio is a planning and request tool. Selections, budget ranges, dimensions, notes, summaries, copied design details, or a submitted Custom Order Request do not by themselves finalize an order, reserve merchandise, guarantee availability, establish final specifications, or create a binding final price. Hands of Gold must review the request and confirm the applicable design specifications, pricing, deposit or payment requirements, and approvals before production begins.
The Copy Design Details function attempts to copy the Studio summary to the visitor's device clipboard. Using the Studio or copying the summary does not by itself send those design details to Hands of Gold. If the visitor chooses Submit Custom Order Request, the contact information and design details entered are sent to Hands of Gold for review and follow-up.
A $99 Stripe-hosted custom jewelry deposit option may be available through the Studio. That payment is intended as a deposit toward a custom jewelry order; it does not by itself confirm final specifications, final price, availability, production timing, or acceptance of a custom order. Any additional amount due and the terms applicable to the specific custom project are confirmed separately by Hands of Gold.
Custom work may require deposits, approvals, measurements, design changes, production time, and final inspection. Custom, personalized, engraved, sized, altered, made-to-order, and special-order merchandise is subject to our Returns & Exchanges Policy and may be final sale. Once custom work or production begins, applicable deposits and payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
Third-party services
Financing, maps, reviews, social platforms, and other linked services are operated by third parties and may have separate terms.
