Returns & Exchanges Policy
Effective date: August 26, 2026
Regular in-stock jewelry
Eligible regular, in-stock merchandise may be returned within 7 calendar days of purchase for an exchange or store credit only, provided that the item:
- Is unworn, unused, and in its original condition.
- Has not been sized, altered, engraved, personalized, damaged, or modified.
- Is returned with the original receipt or other verifiable proof of purchase.
- Includes any original packaging, certificates, documents, or accessories supplied with the item.
No cash or monetary refunds will be issued. Approved returns receive an exchange or Hands of Gold store credit only. We do not refund eligible discretionary returns to cash, credit card, debit card, or another original payment method, except where required by applicable law.
Final sale items
The following are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or store credit, except where required by applicable law:
- Custom-made or made-to-order jewelry.
- Personalized or engraved items.
- Jewelry that has been sized, shortened, lengthened, altered, or otherwise modified.
- Special-order merchandise or items specifically sourced for a customer.
- Clearance merchandise or items marked Final Sale.
- Earrings and other pierced jewelry after purchase for hygiene reasons.
- Completed repair, engraving, sizing, restoration, watch-service, or other service charges.
Custom jewelry and deposits
Custom orders may require a deposit before design, material sourcing, CAD work, stone ordering, casting, manufacturing, or other production begins. Once work or production has begun, deposits and payments toward the custom order are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. Custom jewelry is made specifically for the customer and is final sale.
Changes requested after a design or specification has been approved may result in additional charges.
Online reservation deposits
Selected pieces on this website may be reserved online with a $200 deposit. The deposit holds that specific piece, identified by its SKU, and is applied in full toward the purchase price of that piece.
Reservation deposits are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If Hands of Gold is unable to supply the reserved piece, the deposit is refunded in full.
The remaining balance is quoted and paid in store. Gold prices move with the market, so the final price of a piece is confirmed at the time of purchase, not at the time of reservation. Reserving a piece does not lock its final price.
Deposits are collected through Stripe. Hands of Gold does not receive or store your card number. For any question about a reservation, call or text the store at (631) 264-6610 before placing the deposit.
Special orders
Merchandise ordered or sourced specifically for a customer is considered a special order and is final sale once the order has been placed with a supplier or production has begun.
Damaged, worn, or altered merchandise
Merchandise showing signs of wear, damage, misuse, alteration, scratching, bending, missing stones, or other changes after purchase may not be returned or exchanged. If you believe an item has a manufacturing defect, please bring it to Hands of Gold promptly so we can inspect it and determine the appropriate resolution.
Repairs and services
Payments for completed labor and services are non-refundable once the service has been performed. If you have a concern regarding our workmanship, please return the item to the store so we can inspect the work and determine an appropriate solution.
Financing and lease-to-own purchases
Purchases made through a third-party financing or lease-to-own provider are also subject to that provider's agreement, procedures, and terms. Hands of Gold cannot independently cancel or modify a customer's separate financing or lease agreement. Any approved exchange or store credit involving a financed or leased transaction may require coordination with the applicable provider.
Proof of purchase
A receipt or other verifiable proof of purchase may be required for all returns and exchanges. Hands of Gold reserves the right to refuse a return when the transaction cannot reasonably be verified.
Store credit
Approved returns may be issued as Hands of Gold store credit. Store credit has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash or refunded to a credit or debit card, except where required by applicable law. It may be used toward eligible future purchases from Hands of Gold.
